Tennis Ireland is proud to launch a new initiative to support women and girls in our sport by providing free sanitary products to clubs and venues across the island of Ireland.
In line with Sport Ireland’s Women in Sport Policy, we are committed to making sure that women and girls of all ages can participate fully in tennis. We know that periods, incontinence and period poverty can all be barriers to taking part, and we don’t want a lack of sanitary products to be the reason anyone has to skip training, matches or social play.
Through this initiative, every affiliated tennis club and Access Tennis venue on the island of Ireland can request a free box of sanitary products for their players and members. These products can be placed in bathrooms, changing rooms or other discreet locations around your venue, helping to create a more welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
By working together with our clubs and venues, we can help ensure that up to 50% of our playing population are not held back from enjoying tennis due to period-related barriers.
