The Club School Link initiative forms a core part of the Tennis Ireland National Strategy. Its purpose is to establish and strengthen formal links between affiliated tennis clubs and local schools — growing participation and creating a clear pathway from the classroom to club tennis.
We support clubs and coaches in building relationships with local primary and secondary schools, providing resources, training, and hands-on support every step of the way.

Aligned with the Primary Curriculum Framework
Our coach Maria Petina has delivered fun, interactive sessions for teachers that align with the NCCA 2023 Primary Curriculum Framework and its focus on Being Well.
Session plans are designed to run safely in small spaces, encouraging responsibility, care for self and others, and maximum participation for students of all abilities.

Our 3rd classes had a fantastic time during their 6-week tennis block. Coach Orla was very engaging, well trained, and ran great sessions. A real highlight was getting to use the courts at Portmarnock Tennis Club to put their new skills into practice.

Many of our pupils and teachers had no experience of tennis before this. GLTC have invited us to use the club to continue playing for a few weeks after Easter — an amazing opportunity for all involved to keep developing an interest in the sport.

It was most enjoyable for pupils. The delivery, skills practice and games were very well organised.

The tennis coaching that Emma offered our staff was excellent. This would be super rolled out in all schools.

A truly enjoyable experience for all staff and students. It was a wonderful addition to our Wellbeing Week.
