The 2026 Championships
The 2026 BearingPoint Irish National Blind/VI Championships brought together players from Ireland and around the world at Shankill Tennis Club, Dublin on 2nd and 3rd May. The tournament welcomed all sight categories B1–B4, with separate male and female competitions.

What Made the Weekend
Novice Players
First-time competitors were welcomed with a dedicated section and volunteer support — a brilliant addition to the Championships.
Junior VI Tennis Event
Saturday afternoon's junior VI event was a highlight of the weekend, with senior players joining in to great effect.
Dog Support Team
Our specialist dog support team were on hand throughout — and were arguably the most popular members of the volunteer crew.

Shankill Tennis Club features a purpose-built indoor tennis centre with three cushioned acrylic courts and a viewing balcony. It hosted the 2017 dlr Takei IBTA World Championships — and proved once again in 2026 why it is one of the most experienced venues in international blind tennis.
