Tennis Ireland & Monthlies Organics
Free Period Products for affiliated clubs
FAQs
1. Why are Tennis Ireland rolling out a period product scheme?
In line with Sport Ireland’s Women in Sport Policy, we want to ensure that girls and women of all ages can participate fully in sport. As periods and period poverty can be a barrier for girls and women playing sport, we want to ensure that the 50% of our playing population who have periods won’t have to skip or stop tennis due to a lack of access to sanitary products.
2. Who can sign up for this scheme?
Any affiliated tennis club or Access Tennis venues on the island of Ireland can register for this scheme. Tennis Ireland owned facilities such as the National Tennis Centre, and the Dundalk Tennis Arena will also be stocked with these products.
3. How does my club or venue sign up?
Affiliated clubs and venues can register at this link. Clubs will be allocated one box of products under this pilot scheme.
4. Does my club need to sign up now or can we register at a later date?
This scheme will be available until March 2026 so once a club registers before this date – you will receive the products!
5. How many products should we order?
Affiliated clubs and venues will have the option to order 200, 300 or 400 products. Clubs should consider the number of members in their club when deciding how many products to order. The products will contain an equal distribution of pads and tampons.
6. Are the products free?
Yes! These products will be free for clubs to order as this scheme is supported by the Women in Tennis fund and Sport Ireland’s Women in Sport Unit.
7. When will the products be delivered?
Orders will be processed on the 30th of each month with delivery expected within 1 week.
8. Where should clubs keep and store the products?
The products should be kept in accessible, visible, easy to reach spaces in toilets, changing rooms and other appropriate locations. Club members should know where the products are kept so they can be accessed at any time.
9. Who are Monthlies Organics?
Monthlies Organics are an Irish-owned, female led business determined to disrupt the period care industry.
10. What are in the products?
Monthlies Organics products are made from 100% organic cotton, and manufactured in Europe. Wrapped in recyclable and biodegradable materials, these products are the more sustainable option from the inside out. The packaging is also 100% recyclable.
11. Will this be an ongoing scheme?
We have budgeted for every affiliated club and venue to receive 1 free box of products. After March 2026, we will review the success of this scheme and depending on budget may open the scheme back up to tennis clubs and venues once again.
