Tennis Ireland is proud to announce that its Coach Education System has once again been officially renewed at Gold Level by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) – for the third consecutive time.
Gold is the highest level of global recognition awarded by the ITF for excellence in coach development, placing Ireland firmly among the world leaders in tennis coaching education.
This renewal extends Tennis Ireland’s Gold-Level status through to 31st December 2029, confirming that Ireland continues to meet world-leading standards in coach education structure, delivery, assessment, and ongoing professional development.
Tennis Ireland’s Performance and Coaching Executive, Lisa Murphy, played a pivotal role in securing the renewal, coordinating the extensive documentation and evidence required for the application. Working closely with the ITF and her colleagues across Tennis Ireland, Lisa ensured full alignment with global coaching competencies and best practice.
Tennis Ireland’s Director of Development, Roger Geraghty, was also heavily involved in the renewal process. Drawing on his extensive experience in building and refining the coaching pathway in Ireland, Roger provided strategic oversight and guidance throughout the application, ensuring that the Coach Education System not only met ITF Gold standards but continued to evolve in line with the needs of coaches on the ground. His leadership has been central to embedding a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across Tennis Ireland’s coach development programmes.
As a result of this recognition, Tennis Ireland retains the right to display the ITF logo across all coach education materials and licensed coach credentials — an internationally respected mark of coaching quality and assurance.
This renewed endorsement underlines Tennis Ireland’s leadership in global coaching standards and its unwavering mission to develop the next generation of high-quality tennis coaches across the country.
