Dublin, 4.12.2025: Tennis Ireland has confirmed that the Irish Davis Cup team will return to UL Sport Arena for a crucial World Group II Play-off home tie against Syria on 7–8 February 2026, with tickets going on sale on Thursday 4th December at 10:00am.

Following the electric atmosphere of Ireland’s memorable Davis Cup clash with Austria at UL in 2024, the arena will once again be transformed into a sea of green as fans get the chance to cheer the home team on in a tie that could prove pivotal in Ireland’s Davis Cup journey.

Often described as the World Cup of Men’s Tennis, the Davis Cup offers something fans simply don’t get at regular tour events: national colours, team benches, roaring crowds, and every point played for the flag. With the tie against Syria on home soil, Ireland will be targeting a strong performance and looking to the Limerick crowd to give them that extra home advantage.

“As we’ve seen over the last few years, there’s nothing quite like Davis Cup at home,” said Kevin Quinn Tennis Ireland CEO. “UL Sport Arena gives us an incredible stage – close-up seats, big noise, and a brilliant family atmosphere. We want to see the stands packed with green, roaring #TeamIreland onto a home success.”

Brian King, Director of UL Sport – “UL Sport is honoured and delighted once again to host the Davis Cup at University of Limerick. Following the fantastic atmosphere at Ireland’s 2024 match against Austria, we are eager to welcome fans back for another world-class tennis occasion. The UL Sport Arena offers an energetic environment that truly brings the Davis Cup to life. We look forward to seeing the stands filled with green and creating unforgettable memories as Ireland faces Syria in February 2026.”

While Syria may not be a familiar name for casual tennis fans, Tennis Ireland is emphasising that every Davis Cup tie brings its own unique challenge.

“Davis Cup has a habit of producing great stories,” said Cian Blake, National Performance Development Director. “Syria will arrive well prepared and highly motivated. With a passionate Irish crowd behind us in UL, we’re confident we can rise to the occasion and put in a performance everyone can be proud of.”

As well as top-level tennis, the weekend in UL will feature fan engagement activities, autograph opportunities, and family-friendly entertainment, making it a perfect day out for tennis lovers, sports fans, clubs and juniors from across the country.
