Shankill Tennis Club hosted the third edition of the Inclusion Games, bringing Tennis Europe’s touring juniors and Irish players with disabilities together on court for an afternoon of mixed doubles.
The concept is simple: pair Tennis Europe’s touring juniors with Irish players across wheelchair, para-standing, and vision impaired tennis. Some of Ireland’s world-ranked juniors took part alongside recreational juniors from each discipline.
The day was supported by tournament officials and coaches from across wheelchair, para-standing, and vision impaired tennis, along with a team of volunteers. Play continued as normal on Shankill’s other courts throughout the afternoon, giving the club a full house of activity.
The afternoon wrapped up with a pizza party for players and parents, closing out a day built on connection as much as competition.
Thanks to Shankill Tennis Club for hosting, to Liam for championing the event, and to everyone who coached, volunteered, and played their part in making the day happen.
