Congratulations are in order for Arnaud Bonvarlet, who has earned his Chair Umpire International White Badge at a recent ITF officiating school.
The milestone is hugely significant not just for Arnaud personally, but for Irish tennis as a whole. With this qualification, Ireland has doubled the number of ITF-accredited International Chair Umpires in the country, a proud reflection of the growing strength of officiating in Ireland.
The journey doesn’t stop here, of course. Sitting at the top of the officiating ladder is Fergus Murphy, one of Ireland’s most respected figures in international tennis officiating and holder of the prestigious Gold Badge, the highest ITF umpiring accreditation. Fortunately for Arnaud, he has the benefit of Fergus’s guidance and mentorship as he continues to develop, and we have every confidence that he will continue to rise through the ranks in the years ahead.
From everyone across the Irish tennis community, congratulations Arnaud. A brilliant achievement, and well deserved.
