The Sport Ireland Campus to Host Ireland v China P.R. in September

Tickets on Sale Tuesday 12 August at 10:00 AM

Dublin, 7 August 2025 – Tennis Ireland is proud to announce the return of the Davis Cup. Ireland will host China P.R. in a Davis Cup World Group II play-off tie at the Sport Ireland Campus on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2025.

The tie follows a standout summer for Irish tennis, including the recent success of the 2025 Irish Open, which drew record crowds and showcased the depth of Irish talent on home soil. Among the many highlights was Irish No.1 and Davis Cup Team member Michael Agwi, who reached the final at Carrickmines CLTC, and continues to establish himself as the leading player in Irish men’s tennis.

Building on this momentum, the upcoming Davis Cup tie offers Irish fans the rare opportunity to see their national team compete at home in a high-stakes international fixture. Ireland V China P.R. marks the return of Davis Cup action to Dublin for the first time in 10 years. The Sport Ireland Campus, designed for elite-level performance, will serve as a fitting stage for this unique event.

Together with strong performances from Conor Gannon, Sinead Lohan, Ammar Elamin, Kate Gardiner and Freddy Murray among others, the tournament demonstrated the growing strength and depth of Irish tennis.

Tennis Ireland CEO Kevin Quinn said:
“We’re seeing a real lift in Irish tennis—in terms of participation, talent and public interest. Hosting a Davis Cup tie at Sport Ireland Campus is a natural next step, giving fans the chance to get behind the team and see top-class International tennis in a world-class setting.”
