It was a superb week for Irish junior tennis at the ITF and Tennis Europe events hosted by St. Anne’s in Waterford, with Irish players dominating across both tournaments.
ITF Event
The Irish presence was felt throughout the singles draws, with three of the four finalists flying the green flag. Maja Trojanowska claimed the girls singles title in impressive fashion, while Brody Lee Stafford took home the boys singles crown. Congratulations also to Johnny Fitzgerald, who put in a strong performance to reach the boys singles final.
The success continued on the doubles court, where Joseph McLaughlin and Andrew Schwer partnered up to win the boys doubles title — rounding off an excellent week for Irish players at the ITF event.
Tennis Europe Event
Ariya Pringle Quinn was the standout performer at the Tennis Europe event, producing a brilliant run through the draw all the way to the singles final. She gave everything in a tight three-set battle against her Dutch opponent but was unlucky to come out on the wrong side of a closely contested match — a performance she should be incredibly proud of.
Sam Irwin added to the Irish tally with victory in the boys doubles alongside his British partner, capping off another positive week at the Tennis Europe event.
National Performance Development Director Cian Blake praised the players and the host club:
