Tennis Ireland is delighted to be the first nation to pilot ‘My Club’, a new feature within the ITF World Tennis Number (WTN) designed to bring players and clubs even closer together.
Developed by the International Tennis Federation, My Club will be tested in Ireland in partnership with Tennis Ireland before being rolled out more widely across the world.
What is ‘My Club’?
My Club is a new club-connection and engagement tool built into the existing WTN platform. Through My Club, players will be able to:
- Link their club directly to their WTN profile
- See where they sit within their club community, based on their WTN
- Compare their number with other club members
- Help clubs gain a clearer understanding of their active playing base
- Support the planning of better-aligned competitions and programmes, based on real player profiles and participation patterns
In short, My Club uses the power of WTN data to give both players and clubs a clearer picture of the playing landscape.
Why Ireland?
Ireland has been an enthusiastic and early adopter of the ITF World Tennis Number, using WTN across national competitions, local tournaments and club activity. That strong track record, along with the engagement of Irish players, coaches and administrators, makes Ireland an ideal testbed for this new feature. Tennis Ireland hosted a webinar for clubs regarding WTN in October, which you can watch back here.
Working alongside the ITF, Tennis Ireland will collaborate with club administrators, coaches and players of all ages and standards to:
- Trial the My Club functionality
- Gather feedback on ease of use and impact
- Identify opportunities to enhance the feature for clubs globally
How the Pilot Will Work
During the pilot phase, players in Ireland will start to see the My Club option appear within their WTN profile.
They’ll be encouraged to:
- Select the club where they play most often
- Keep their details up to date as their playing habits evolve
The information gathered will help shape how My Club can best support clubs worldwide – from encouraging more social play to building formats and competitions that genuinely reflect the needs and abilities of the players on court.
Supporting Clubs, Growing the Game
Clubs are at the heart of Irish tennis. They are where players first pick up a racquet, develop their skills and stay connected to the sport throughout their lives.
By giving clubs better visibility of their player community, My Club aims to:
- Strengthen the relationship between players and their local clubs
- Encourage regular play and player retention, especially when used alongside the My Matches function
- Support the design of more relevant competitions, box leagues and social events
- Contribute to a more vibrant, data-informed tennis ecosystem for all ages and levels
For Tennis Ireland, this pilot is an important step in using digital tools to support clubs on the ground and to grow participation nationwide.
What Happens Next?
Following the Irish pilot, the ITF and Tennis Ireland will review feedback from players and clubs and use those insights to refine My Club before it is offered to additional nations.
Please keep in mind that both our Development and Competitions teams are well versed in WTN and are here to help with any queries clubs may have.

We look forward to working with participating clubs and their members as we help shape the future of this exciting new feature – and continue to use the ITF World Tennis Number to support and grow tennis in Ireland.
