In 2022 Ireland hosted 11 Junior International tournaments – the most Ireland has ever hosted.
This significant increase in international tournaments provided young players in Ireland the opportunity to compete against top juniors from around the world, gain international ranking points, save approx. €1,000 per tour on travel costs – all on home soil.
Tennis Ireland is delighted to announce that at least four international events are confirmed so far for 2023 with more to be added to the calendar soon.

Success and outcomes from International Tournaments held in Ireland in 2022
- 9 singles titles were won by Irish players out of the 11 events in 2022.
- 12 Irish players (6 pairings) won doubles titles in 2022.
- 55 Irish players now have a Tennis Europe ranking
- 36 Irish players now have an ITF ranking
- 91 players in total now have international ranking points
Tournament play is an essential part of player development and Tennis Ireland would like to thank and congratulate all those who hosted the tournaments in 2022, providing valuable experience and contributing greatly to the above stats.
Tennis Ireland National Performance Coordinator said “The success of the Tennis Ireland push for #HomeAdvantage is clear to see with multiple singles and doubles winners in the various Tennis Europe and ITF events. Tennis Ireland will continue to work with the ITF and Tennis Europe to grow the quantity of events and help our Irish players improve their international ranking.”
Ken Murphy, Junior Chairperson of Carrigaline who hosted a Tennis Europe U14 tournament said “We were delighted to hold a Tennis Europe under 14 event in July of this year. It was a great opportunity to put Carrigaline on the Tennis Europe map having previously hosted an ITF event in 2019. The event was part of the ‘Home Advantage’ initiative from Tennis Ireland. This is a fantastic initiative that gives Irish players an opportunity to gain international experience on home soil. It was an initiative we were delighted to be part of and we really saw the benefits of hosting the event as it inspired our members as well as having the honour of watching top internationals in our club.”
Acceptance into ITF tournaments is based on ITF Junior Ranking followed by ITF World Tennis Number (WTN). Acceptance into Tennis Europe tournaments is determined by Tennis Europe rankings followed by by the order given by the players’ National Association.
How to Enter Tennis Europe and ITF Tournaments – Register for your IPIN and Tennis Europe Account
- REGISTERING FOR YOUR IPIN (required for ITF and Tennis Europe tour events)
All players must have a valid IPIN (International Player Identification Number), issued by ITF to enter and play on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour and ITF tour. It is important that you sign-up and pay for your IPIN well in advance of the Entry Deadline to be sure to have it in time.
Your membership is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and is non-refundable. Each player should have only ONE IPIN.
In order to register for a tournament, you need an IPIN membership. Visit the IPIN section of the ITF World Tennis Tour website for details relating to the IPIN online services or go to IPIN.itftennis.com and click ‘Sign Up Now’.

Registration fee for IPIN for ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors: $40 USD
Once done, you will receive an email containing a link that activates your IPIN account. Thereafter you select your password and pay the annual fee for IPIN membership.
If you wish to renew your existing IPIN membership for 2023, you must login to your IPIN account on the ITF website here, go to ‘My Profile’, followed by ‘Circuits’ and select the option ‘Renew Membership’.

In addition to the IPIN, you need to register for a Tennis Europe Account here: https://www.tenniseurope.org/member/createaccount.aspx
Follow the instructions on the screen. You need to create your user name and password. This can be the same or different from the one you selected for your IPIN if you wish. When all is filled in click ‘submit’. You can now enter tournaments on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour.
You can click your name in the top right corner of the Tennis Europe site at any time to open your profile. There you can reassign tournament priorities until the Entry Deadline.
