Tennis Ireland is committed to ensuring that the welfare, safety, and best interests of all participants in tennis are of paramount importance.

Our Safeguarding Policy is informed by relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice across both jurisdictions on the island of Ireland.

In the Republic of Ireland, this includes the Children First Act 2015 and Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children (2017). In Northern Ireland, it is guided by the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 and Co-operating to Safeguard Children and Young People in Northern Ireland. The policy is also underpinned by national frameworks and guidance relating to adult safeguarding, including the National Policy Framework for Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse and the developing adult safeguarding legislative framework in the Republic of Ireland, together with the relevant adult safeguarding policies and procedures in Northern Ireland.

Through this policy, Tennis Ireland seeks to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all participants can enjoy and develop within the sport.
