3) Child Protection

The protection of children in our sport has been and remains a priority of the highest order.  Tennis Ireland’s National Children’s Officer is always available to clubs to provide training and advice in this vital area.

There are 12 requirements in order for a club to become compliant with the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children in Sport.

They can be viewed here.

4) Ranking (National Player Database)

The N.P.D. identifies players uniquely which is crucial to the development of an efficient and effective rating system as well as a communication system between the governing body and the tennis community.

5) Nation Tennis Centre

The National Tennis Centre is comprised of 10 courts, proving three internationally recognised training surfaces (acrylic, clay and concrete).  Four courts are covered and a further three have a seasonal air-hall cover.

6) National Tennis Academy

Tennis Ireland operates and manages the National Tennis Academy at the NTC.  The academy is made up of 70 of the best junior and senior players in the country.  All players have access to the highest standard coaching programmes, strength and conditioning services, fitness facilities, sports psychology, nutrition and physiotherapy services.

7) International Tennis

We select and manage the Davis Cup (International Men’s competition) and Fed Cup (International Women’s competition) teams and frequently host Davis Cup ties in Ireland.  Academy members compete in Tennis Europe and ITF events right around the world where they often travel with the support of the Academy Technical Staff.

8) Rules

Tournament Regulations need to be adhered to and followed.  Tennis Ireland has the responsibility to administer this process so all competitors can be treated equally and fairly.

9) Tournament Software

The on-line tournament software system has greatly enhanced how tournaments are organised and advertised allowing far greater access to results and fixtures.  This is a significant addition to the sport as it allows for a far more efficient running of competitions benefiting the organisers and the players.
