Opening Statement:

We promote, regulate and administer the sport as the National Governing Body on an all-island basis.  This area of work includes, but is not limited to:

1) Club Development:

We operate a variety of development initiatives, which are focused on the club and recreational sector in tennis.  These programs are delivered through Regional Development Officers.

2) Access to Government Grant Aid 

Tennis Ireland provides support to clubs who apply for grant aid such as the Sports Capital Programme.

3) Coaches Education

Tennis Ireland provides coaches training programmes which are certified by Coaching Ireland and fully endorsed by the World Governing Body, The International Tennis Federation.

4) Commercial Partnerships

Tennis Ireland provide commercial partnerships with the following: AON, Pinergy and Select Hotels. 

5) Safeguarding

The protection of children in our sport has been and remains a priority of the highest order.  Tennis Ireland’s National Children’s Officer is always available to clubs to provide training and advice in this vital area.

There are 12 requirements in order for a club to become compliant with the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children in Sport.

6) Participation in Open Tournaments and Provincial Leagues 

7) Ability to participate in Provincial Branch or Tennis Ireland workshops and training programmes

8) Ranking (National Player Database)

The N.P.D. identifies players uniquely which is crucial to the development of an efficient and effective rating system as well as a communication system between the governing body and the tennis community.

9) Rules

Tournament Regulations need to be adhered to and followed.  Tennis Ireland has the responsibility to administer this process so all competitors can be treated equally and fairly.

10) Tournament Software

The on-line tournament software system has greatly enhanced how tournaments are organised and advertised allowing far greater access to results and fixtures.  This is a significant addition to the sport as it allows for a far more efficient running of competitions benefiting the organisers and the players.

11) Communications

Tennis Ireland provide a variety of communications via various web and printed publications, including Covid-19 return to play in recent times.

12) Promotion

Tennis Ireland provide promotion of your club events and job vacancies on our social media channels.
