Ireland to travel to Estonia for 2014 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas

The BNP Paribas Irish Fed Cup team will have to travel to Estonia for the Euro/Africa Zone Group III tie which will take place at the Tere Tennis Centre in Tallinn in early February 2014.


 

The ITF announced details of the venue in early November and the Fed Cup captain Yvonne Doyle will commence preparations shortly for the trip to Estonia in late January.

International round up

James McGee has reached a career high ranking of 220 earlier this month. McGee moved up the rankings following his recent travel to Korea and Japan.

 

James Cluskey ends the year with an ATP Doubles ranking of 154, having travelled to the US for 3 tournaments during the month of November.

 

Sam Barry is currently in Doha competing in the Qatar F3 Futures.  Sam travelled to Cyprus for two Futures tournaments during the month of November reaching the semi final during one of the events.  His current ranking is 466.

Daniel Glancy reached the Quarter Finals during a Futures tournament last week in Larnaca, Cyprus.  Daniel competed in two other tournaments in the country during the month.  Daniel’s ranking is 749.

BNP Paribas Academy piece

Our Academy members have been training diligently and concentrating on meeting their individual goals during training sessions.  Although the Christmas break is around the corner, there will be very little rest as the players will soon be competing in National Matchplay and the National Indoors.  While some of our players will be preparing for International events in the New Year.  With such a steady pace of practice and preparation ahead, 2014 is set to be an exciting year for our Tennis Academy.
