National Tennis Day – 5th July 2014
On Saturday, 5th July we are encouraging tennis clubs around the country to host Open Days to allow newcomers to our great sport, to come along and test-drive tennis.
The purpose is to use the event as a way of actively recruiting new club members.

50 clubs took part in this initiative in 2013 securing a combined total of approximately 2,000 new members.

National Tennis Day takes place on the same day as the Wimbledon Ladies’ final.

Tennis Ireland would like to encourage clubs to organise an Open Day or similar event to open your door to potential tennis players.  Club committees can commence preparation work in your Club as soon as possible.
Your club can begin  now to focus on generating local publicity that will ensure a good turnout on the day.  You could also consider having a local promotional day in advance of the 5th July as we know from experience this works really well.

For more information and to view a video of how one of our affiliated clubs, Naas LTC have been running their very successful Annual Open Day, please visit here.

Contact your Regional Development Officer, by clicking here, for further assistance in planning your open day.
