Davis Cup team defeat to Belarus March 2015

The AIG Irish Davis cup team captained by Conor Niland, assistant captain, Jamie Delgado, displayed a valiant battle against the higher ranked Belarusian team earlier in March losing out on this occasion in the Castleknock Venue.

Having gone 2-0 down after day 1 it was down to the doubles pairing of Cluskey/O’Hare to try and keep the tie alive going into Day 3.The match will go down in history as one of the most exciting Irish Davis Cup doubles. Unfortunately the result did not go in Ireland’s favour but the fans got a great taste of Davis Cup tennis from this doubles pairing who have subsequently announced their plans to tour together on the doubles pro-circuit.

There was great representation from the Irish fans on all days, who showed great support and lifted the player’s spirits.
