John Morrissey has advanced to the third round in the Philippines’ tournament. After a first round bye, fifth seeded Morrissey defeated Joey Swaysland of Australia on a scoreline of 3-6 7-6(4) 6-2. Morrissey will play Kalle Averfalk of Sweeden in the third round.
 
Sam Barry, who was seeded sixteenth in boys’ singles, was knocked out in the second round after receiving a first round bye. Barry was defeated by Timur Neymatov of Russia 6-4 6-2.
 
Barry remains in competition in the Philippines in boys’ doubles, where he is teamed up with Ben McLachlan of New Zealand. The pair, fourth seeded in the doubles, will play the American pair of Shaun Bernstein and Campbell Johnson in the second round after receiving a bye in the first round.
 
Morrissey is also competiting in the doubles. The team of Morrissey and the Russian Alexander Rumyantsev is the third seed in the tournament, earning them a first round bye. They will take on the winner of the Deen Heshaam (MAS)/Kadchapanan (THA) and Athare (IND)/Nakireddi (IND) first round match.
 
ATP Jersey International: Niland Moves to Second Round Singles and Doubles
 
Conor Niland continues play in the second round on the Channel Islands today as he takes on Daniel Smethurst of Great Britain. Later today Niland will team up with Uladzimir Ignatik of Belarus against the fourth seeded pair of Nicolas Mahut (FRA) and Lovro Zovko (CRO) in the second round of men’s doubles.
 
Niland/Ignatik advanced to the second round doubles after a 6-2 6-2 defeat of Niels Desein and Yanick Mertens of Belgium in the first round. In the singles’ tournament, Niland, ranked 234th, moved on after a 6-1 6-4 victory over sixth seeded Desein
