The 2011 Australian Open Qualifiers have been released this week with Irish player, Conor Niland facing Kevin Kim (USA) in the first round. This will be Kim’s third appearance at the Australian Open with his best performance in 2005 when he reached the third round of the mens singles.

Niland (seeded no. 16) reached the third round of the mens singles qualifying stages at his first Australian Open last year but since then has won two mens singles titles on the ATP circuit, the first at the Israel Open in May and the second in Austria at the Salzburg Open. Conor also represented Ireland at Davis Cup in March and July.
