The Director of Tennis Course is a prerequisite for Level 1 Coaches to take before advancing to the Tennis Ireland Level 2 Course. The Course is designed to provide the participant with all the knowledge required in order to set up and develop successful on court tennis programmes in a club. If you plan to be in a leadership role at a tennis club at some stage in the future, the course will help you develop the necessary skills to manage and lead the implementation of a complete club development programme.
The Director of Tennis Course was written and presented by Peter Farrell, Tennis Ireland Regional Development Officer for South Leinster.
The Presentations were recorded, edited and produced by Roger Geraghty, Director of Development, Tennis Ireland.
The Course is aimed at Club Officials, Provincial Branch Councillors, Coaches and potential Directors of Tennis or Tennis Managers. We believe the content contained in the presentations will act as an excellent resource for volunteers serving on club committees whether they are totally new to the task or they are an experienced volunteer seeking new ideas.
Coaches will also benefit from taking the course especially if they are in charge of the on court programmes at your club and of course if clubs are in a position to appoint a Director of Tennis we strongly recommend that the potential candidate takes the course.
Should any of your tasks not be completed to the required standard, you will have an opportunity to repeat the task as often as is necessary for you to reach the required level.
The course is divided into two sections, section A and section B.
To provide the general tennis public with new ideas that they can implement at club level.
