Children’s Officers are not expected to work in isolation. They should have the full support of all those serving on the committee, firstly, while putting together the clubs policies and procedures and secondly, it’s continued support in order to maintain consistency while implementing the clubs child protection policies in the years ahead. The committee are also responsible for the recruitment of replacement Children’s Officers in the event of either one of the Officers resigning from his or her post.
Note: It is recommended and noted as best practice that the designated person be someone in a senior position in the club. However if the club is struggling to assign this position to a senior member then one of the club’s children’s officers may act as the designated person.
