02 Sep ROI COVID-19 Update September 2021
On Tuesday you may have heard the welcome announcement by An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, of a roadmap outlining the easing of COVID-19 related restrictions across a range of sectors, including sport, over the coming weeks.
Tennis Ireland has been in contact with Sport Ireland who have outlined that further detail on the finer points of the roadmap as they relate to sport will be provided to the sports sector later this week.
Once this information has been provided, we will develop updated tennis specific guidelines, particularly as they pertain to the use of indoor courts and changing facilities / locker rooms and share them with the tennis community.
However, in summary, from September 20th the following applies to competitive sports training, competition and events.
|Patrons with proof of immunity (vaccinated or recovered)||Mixed Patrons (with and without proof of immunity)|
|INDOOR||Up to 100 people (with appropriate protective measures)||Pods of up to 6 participants will be permitted (this excludes adult coaches/instructors etc.).
Multiple pods will be permissible and should take into account the overall size of the venue.
Substantial social distancing between individual
|OUTDOOR||Removal of measures such as Pods of 15 in outdoor training etc.|
In the meantime, we would ask for your continued patience and ongoing compliance with the current restrictions.
