Tennis Ireland and its Ulster Branch Welcomes the Reopening of Tennis in Northern Ireland from April 1st

Tennis Ireland and its Ulster Branch warmly welcomes the announcement yesterday that tennis will be one of the first sports to resume under Step 2 of the Northern Ireland Executive’s reopening pathway which will commence on April 1st.

Tennis Ireland has been engaging with the Department of Communities and Sport NI and will continue to work with Sport NI in the coming days in order to finalise the Return to Tennis Guidelines for this stage which will outline an incremental approach to reopening.

This Guidelines will be circulated to Clubs in the next week and Tennis Ireland seeks the support of clubs and their members in the strict implementation of these protocols to ensure a safe return for all.

Tennis Ireland are also continuing to engage intensively with the Irish Government, highlighting the safety and health benefits of Tennis and working towards its resumption as soon as the public health situation allows. As outlined previously, an announcement in this regard will be made by Government in the week leading up to the 5th April.
