22 Dec Killaloe Ballina Tennis Club Fundraiser for Indoor Courts
Killaloe Ballina Tennis Club (KBTC) which serves the twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina and the surrounding area is located in the picturesque village of Killaloe in Co. Clare. It boasts four floodlit all-weather tennis courts and a clubhouse with a common room and changing facilities. It is a vibrant club which runs regular club competitions and social tennis events; hosts inter-club competitions; operates ongoing leagues for members; and offers members of all ages with coaching throughout the year.
The club has an active membership made up of family, single, junior, student and tourist members. They are currently at capacity with the existing facilities and have embarked on an ambitious plan to add two permanent indoor courts with potential for a mini court and new club house in later phases.
The club has raised considerable funds through its members and the project has been part-funded by the LEADER programme, through the National Development Plan and by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The project is also supported by the National Sports Capital Grant program, W2 foundation, the JP Mc Manus Benevolent fund and Tomar Trust. To complete the project the club are looking to raise additional funds via a recently launched gofundme site (see link below).
The club are welcoming donations of any size from other tennis clubs or individuals that would like to support this great project which will see many benefits for tennis in Munster.
