Sport NI launch £25m Fund to Support Clubs

Tennis Ireland and its Ulster Branch are pleased to announce that Sport Northern Ireland have launched the Sports Sustainability Fund, with an allocation of £25 million to support sporting National Governing Bodies and clubs in Northern Ireland.

Sport NI and the Department for Communities recognise the significant financial impact of COVID-19 and the resulting restrictions on sports governing bodies, clubs and sporting organisations; limiting opportunities for organisations to generate income in the usual ways, such as club membership, running events and competitions and by attracting sponsorship.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for sports clubs around the country; as such, the Sports Sustainability Fund will now be made available through Sport Northern Ireland to deliver immediate funding to those most in need.

The process will be administered by Tennis Ireland and its Ulster Branch on behalf of the clubs in Northern Ireland, with more information and a detailed application process to follow later this week.

We are very grateful to Sport NI and the Department for Communities for their hard work in securing this funding and are pleased that our clubs will be able to avail of much needed financial support.
