17 Sep Tennis Ireland Supports Dave Miley ITF Presidency bid
Tennis Ireland is pleased to announce its support for Mr. Dave Miley in his bid to become President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
Mr. Miley, who had previously been nominated by Tennis Ireland, secured the support of the Tennis Ireland Board following a board meeting on Saturday September 14th held in Dublin. The Board based its decision on the contents of Mr. Miley’s manifesto, vision, and ideas for the future of Tennis.
Mr. Shane Cooke, President of Tennis Ireland, commented: “While the overall quality of candidates is excellent, Tennis Ireland is supporting Dave Miley in his bid to be ITF President. Dave has worked tirelessly for our sport for over 35 years in various capacities, including a long career in the ITF and we wish him every success with his campaign.”
Speaking after the announcement Mr. Miley said, “I am very grateful for the support shown to me by the Tennis Ireland Board. As a proud Irishman and as a person with vast experience and passion for the sport of Tennis, I hope that I can repay their faith in me by securing victory in the upcoming ITF Presidential elections”.
