RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE KINDER + SPORT TROPHY EVENTS

Who are the events aimed at

Boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 14 who are eligible to enter U10 Green Ball Events and u12 and U14 Phoenix 1 and Phoenix 2 Events and have A National Junior Ranking no better than Number 41 on the Tennis Ireland National Junior Rankings. 

That is, any player who has either no ranking points at all or is lower than number 40 on the Rankings.

For the U10 Green Ball Event, any player who has been granted a Passport to play in Yellow Ball Events are ineligible to play in this event. 

U9 Orange Ball Players, however, who have received a Passport to play Green Ball Events, are eligible to enter the U10 Event.

So for the year 2018 all those born from 2004 to 2008 can enter the relevant event.

The exact age is calculated by subtracting the current year from the year of birth.

Current year: 2018

2018 – 2004 = 14 years

Format

The events will be initially a Round Robin Format with 4 sections of four participants who will advance into two knock out events. 

Scoring

There will be no umpires for the matches so all participants will need to have some experience of Organised Play and a good knowledge of the rules and scoring system.

The Scoring System will be modified and the system will be explained in more detail when the Events are deemed open for entry.

Limited Entry 

Each Event is limited to 16 Players and Participants can only enter one Tournament. That is, every player can only enter their relevant age group and can only enter either the Shankill Event or the St Anne’s Park Event. A player can not enter both Tournaments.

The Tournament Organisers will accept the first 16 who enter the relevant age group and a waiting list will be created in the order of entries, for players who didn’t make the cut off and will be offered a place in the event in the case of any withdrawals.

Prizes

 

For the U10, U12 & U14 Tournament winners and runners up, Trophies will be presented sponsored by Kinder +Sport.

 

There is a special additional Prize provided by Kinder +Sport for the U14 Events which will be announced nearer the time of entry.

 

Tournament Entry Fee 

 

The entry fee for the event is €10.00 per person
