Sinead Lohan wins first ITF title in Portugal

Sinead Lohan had a fantastic week in Cantanhede, Portugal winning her first career futures title. Sinead was in great form entering the tournament after an outstanding season in America at the University of Miami. Sinead had to come through a number of difficult qualifying rounds before reaching the main draw. Throughout the main draw she was met with tough competition from the number four seed, Jessika Ponchet and the number seven seed Ainhoa Atucha Gomez. In the Semi Final Sinead faced fellow Irish player, Jennifer Timotin. After an impressive display from both players Sinead was able to come from a set behind to win the match against Jennifer, 5-7 6-3 6-2. In the final Sinead played the number one seed, Victoria Bosio. Sinead defeated Victoria who currently holds the ITF ranking of 452, 6-3 7-5. Click here for full draw.
