Simon Carr wins Grade 2 in Hungary

GREAT WEEK FOR IRISH JUNIORS ON TOUR


Headlining the Irish junior success this week was the unseeded 16 yr old Simon Carr.

Playing a Grade 2 event in Hungary he made it all the way through to the winner’s podium by defeating the No 1 seed  Nikita Mashtakov (ITF ranked 106) See draw here

This result comes only a week after Simon secured his first ATP point on the pro-circuit by beating Augusto Laranja 6-2 6-2. The Brazilian once held an ATP ranking of 584.

This is a huge leap from the Grade 3 event he won in Tunisia only a month ago.

 

In Iceland two members of the BNP national academy progressed to the final where Juliana Carton was the player to upset compatriot and the No 1 seed Georgia Lily Lynn Browne 4-6 6-1 6-4. Congratulations to both players on making the final of the Grade 3 U14 Open.

 

Meanwhile in Belgium at the Ten-pro  Internationals the BNP national academy Futures squad were competing.

In all 19 member of the squad took part with Zach Murphy finishing in the No 2 spot winning his 5 matches along the way.
