23 Jul European Junior Championships
Irish teams are participating in the U14 and U16 European Championships this week.
The u14s travelled to the Czech Republic and the U16s are in Russia.

U14 Boys
Charlie Barry lost R1 to Hogo Maia of Portugal 3-6 0-6
Will O’Callaghan lost in R1 to Jonas Forejtek from the Czech Repiblic 2-6 1-3(ret)
U14 Girls
Zara Ryan bt Florentia Hadjigeorgiou 6-2 6-1
Caoimhe Duffy Niblock lost to Carlota Martinez Cirez 6-0 6-2
Zara Ryan/Caoimhe Duffy Niblock progressed to the last 16 in doubles after a comfortable win against the Russian girls. They next faced the no 2 seeds from the Ukraine and were defeated in a closely contested final set championship tie-break

U16 Boys
Cian Maguire won his opening match against Antoine Barbeiri from San Marino 6-2 6-2
He was defeated in R2 where he was unlucky to come up against the No 1 seed Patrick Rikl from Czech Republic
Sea Collins met Amadatus Admiraal of the Netherlands in his first round match and lost on a close scoreline of 7-6(1) 6-3
U16 Girls
Georgia Drummy received a bye in the first round and met Elena Mchedlidze(Georgia) She emerged a well deserved winner battling through in 3 sets 7-6(6) 4-6 6-2. She met and lost to Ylena In-Albon of Greece in the next round who recorded a surprise 3-set victory over the No 1 seed in her first round. The score was 7-6(4) 6-2
Jenny Timotin has successfully progressed to R3 after beating Paulina Bakaite of Lithuania and Hungary’s Csenge Furak. Jenny then played Serbia’s Kristina Melitic and lost 3-6 4-6
Doubles
Both boys and girls pairings were defeated in their first round of doubles
