05 Nov National Squad Player reaches final in Gran Canaria
Players from the BNP Paribas National Tennis Academy travelled to Gran Canaria in Spain last week to compete in the Tennis Europe u12s and u14s event. The temperature was high and the players trained with intensity. Zara Ryan seeded 5th in the u14s singles event, battled her way through the final with impressive play to meet the number 1 seed Carlota Molina Megias. Zara lost the match to the Spanish player 64, 60. An heroic effort – well done Zara.
In the girls u12s doubles main draw, Georgia Lily Lynn Browne partnered up with Alina Kishko from Belarus. The team worked well together to get to the semi finals, only to lose out at the last hurdle to reach the final, to Spanish pairing, Dami Messiah Edibson/Alba Rey Garcia.
All of the Academy players clocked up some invaluable experience and had abundance of opportunity to compete. Congratulations to all the team and huge thanks to Galina, team coach for her hard work.
