Jenny Timotin wins Tennis Europe Dublin tournament
The Tennis Europe tournament that took place last week in Dublin was one that resulted with an Irish champion.
Jenny Timotin was the champion of the U14 Girls Singles, defeating Anna Kraus of Austria 6-1 6-2.
Laura Reid made it to the quarterfinals, but was defeated by Kraus 7-6 6-3. In the U14 Boys Singles, Sean Collins was defeated in the semifinals by Finn Bass of Great Britain on a scoreline 7-5 6-1. In the quarterfinals, Morgan Lohan was also defeated by Bass 6-4 7-6. Laura Reid and Julia Logtenberg Gracia of Spain made it to the Girls Doubles finals, but were defeated by Alba and Laia Conejero Gutierrez of Spain 6-4 6-3. In the semifinals, we also had Anna Bowtell and Eimear Maher, who were disappointingly defeated by the Conejero Gutierrez sisters 6-2 6-4. In the Boys Doubles, Sean Collins and his American partner Vuk Budic were defeated by Simon Fiala of Austria and Carle Sarrio Tamarit of Spain in the semifinals 7-6 6-2. In the quarterfinals, Chris Cree and Conor Reilly were defeated by Denmark’s Sean Zachory Ellingsen and Kasper Elsvad on a scoreline 6-4 6-4.
