Sinead Lohan takes Romania by storm
Sinead Lohan is currently competing in the 17th Wilson – Tivoli Trophy Timisoara tournament in Romania, where she is competing in both singles and doubles. Lohan’s first singles match was against Pippa Horn of Great Britain, who she defeated 6-2 6-4. Advancing to the second round matched her against Vendula Zovincova of Czech Republic. Lohan beat Zovincova 7-5 6-4. In the quarterfinals, she will play Marika Akkerman of Canada.
Lohan’s doubles partner is Vitaliya Alkhovik of the United States. Lohan and Alkhovik were matched first against Natsuno Arakawa of Japan and Teona Velehorschi of Canada, winning with a scoreline of 6-0 6-4. This put them through to the quarterfinals, where they had to play Harriet Dart and Pippa Horn, both of Great Britain. Sinead and Vitaliya had a bit of a fight, but managed to win their match 0-6 6-4 11-9. The ladies are now in the semifinals, where they will play Laura Enea and Oana Georgeta Simion of Romania.
