James Cluskey wins doubles in Spain

James Cluskey and Fabrice Martin of France have won the doubles of the Spain F18 Futures after a 6-3 6-4 win over Spanish pair Gerard Granollers-Pujol/  Andoni Vivanco-Guzman in the finals yesterday.

Cluskey and Martin defeated their first opponents Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash and Ramkumar Ramanathan of India with a scoreline of 7-6 7-6. This has advanced them to the semifinals, where they had a 6-3 6-0 win over Dino Callone and Leonel Videla of Argentina.

This is James’ first $15,000 doubles title and second doubles final this month. Earlier this month, Cluskey and Sam Barry reached the final of the Spain F16 Futures in Martos.

Also competing in Spain this week was James McGee who reached the quarterfinals of the mens singles but was overcome by Gerard Granollers-Pujol on a scoreline  6-4 2-6 6-3.
