Jennifer Timotin runner up in Portimão 2012 International Tournament U14
Jennifer Timotin had an exceptional week in Portimão, advancing all the way to the finals. To advance to the third round, Timotin beat Sofia Sualehe of Portugal 6-2 6-4. She then faced Inez Mesquita, also of Portugal, in the quarterfinals and battled out to earn a place in the semifinals. Timotin beat Mesquita on a scoreline 6-4 7-6 (3).
Jennifer was matched against Portugal’s Joana Ferreira in the semifinals, and won her match 7-5 5-7 6-2, proving that she deserved a spot in the finals. Unfortunately, Great Britain’s Eden Richardson edged out Timotin in the finals, with a scoreline of 6-3 6-3. Big congratulations to Jennifer for earning second place! Well done.
