Amy Bowtell results from Spain
Amy Bowtell qualified for the semi finals of the womens singles at the $10,000 Gijon 2011 after a 4-6 7-6(2) 6-2 win over no. 2 seeded Karolina Nowak (GER) in the quarterfinals. Amy faced Diana Stomlega (ROU) in the semi finals but was unfortunate to suffer a 1-6 7-6(1) 7-5 defeat.
Amy has also had success in the doubles event winning the finals in a walkover with partner Lucy Brown (GBR). The pair defeated no. 2 seeded Spanish pair Cavalle-Reimers / Rapisarda-Calvo in the semi finals on a scoreline 6-2 6-4.
