Amy Bowtell advances to second round in Chiswick

Amy Bowtell has advanced to the second round of the womens singles event at the $10,000 Chiswick 2011 after a 7-6(4) 6-2 win over Lucy Brown (GBR) in the first round. Amy faces no. 2 seeded Bojana Bobusic (AUS) in the second round.

Julia Moriarty was unfortunate to suffer a 6-3 6-1 first round defeat to Daneika Borthwick (GBR). Julia teamed up with Alexandra Wlkaer (GBR) for the doubles event and the pair were overcome in the first round on a scoreline 6-1 6-1 by British duo Borthwick / Seaborne.
