Amy Bowtell Results Update from Wrexham
Amy Bowtell advanced to the womens singles second round at the $25,000 Wrexham 2011 and yesterday faced no. 3 seeded Marta Sirotkina (RUS) but was overcome on a scoreline 6-4 6-1.
Julia Moriarty was unfortunate to suffer a 6-1 6-0 defeat to Garbine Muguruza Blanco (ESP) in the first round of the womens singles but advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles event with partner Alexandra Walker (GBR) after a 6-1 7-6(4) win over Brown (GBR) / Stephenson GBR). They were unfortunate to suffer a 6-2 6-0 defeat to Sirotkina (RUS) / Lykina (RUS) in the quarterfinals yesterday.
