Conor Niland in final round of qualifiers at Wimbledon: Play suspended until tomorrow due to rain

Irish Number 1 Conor Niland will have to wait until tomorrow (Saturday) to complete his match against Nikola Mektic of Croatia in the final round of the mens singles qualifiers as play was suspended this morning due to heavy rainfall in Roehampton. Niland currently leads 4-2 over the Croatian who has a ranking of 274.

Niland qualified for the final round after a 4-6 7-5 6-2 win over Australian Greg Jones in the second round. Conor defeated Josselin Ouanna (FRA) in the first round on a scoreline 6-3 4-6 8-6. He currently holds a ranking of 184 and represented Ireland in March of this year at Davis Cup. A place in the main draw would be a first for Niland who won the Salzburg and Ramat Hasharon Challengers in 2010.
