Amy Bowtell qualifies for second round in Portugal

Amy Bowtell has earned a place in the second round of the womens singles at the $10,000 Vale Do Lobo 2011 in Portugal. Amy defeated Maria Palhoto of Portugal in the first round on a scoreline 6-1 6-0. Her next challenge is no. 4 seeded Natalia Orlova (RUS) in the second round.

Julia Moriarty and partner Arabela Fernandez-Rabener (ESP) teamed up for the doubles first round at the $10,000 Vale Do Lobo 2011 in Portugal but the pair were unfortunate to suffer a 6-1 3-6 [10-4] defeat to Dutch duo Kerkhove / Van Der Sar. Earlier in the week, Julia Moriarty qualified for the third round of the womens singles qualifiers but was overcome by Samantha Murray (GBR) on a scoreline 6-3 6-4.
