All Irish players advance in Glasgow
Mens Singles Qualifiers
Sam Barry and Barry King have advanced to mens singles main draw at the AEGON GB Pro-Series Glasgow. Sam Barry had a 7-6(4) 6-3 win over Alexandre Penaud (FRA) and Barry King defeated Marshall Tutu (GBR) on a scoreline 6-3 6-3 in the final round of the qualifiers.
Lazare Kukhalashvili from Georgia who trains in Dublin faced Hugo Nys (FRA) in the first round of the mens singles qualifiers but was unfortunate to suffer a 6-7(4) 6-1 6-2 defeat.
Womens Singles Qualifiers
Amy Bowtell has also travelled to Glasgow for this tournament and she had a 6-4 6-0 first round win over Emily Rodbourne (GBR) in the womens singles qualifiers yesterday afternoon. Amy will face no. 7 seeded Jennifer Ren (GBR) in the second round this morning.
Mens Singles Main Draw
Barry King will play Alexander Slabinsky (GBR) in the first round of the mens singles main draw this morning and Sam Barry will face no. 6 seeded Jamie Baker (GBR) this afternoon.
Mens Doubles
Barry King has teamed up with James Cluskey for the doubles event. The Irish duo will play French pair Tristan Lamasine/Albano Olivetti in the first round this afternoon while Sam Barry and partner Mirza Basic (BIH) face no. 1 seeds Olivier Charroin (FRA) / Vincent Stouff (FRA).
