Sam Barry fails to advance in US Open Juniors
Sam Barry competed in the second round of the boys singles and doubles yesterday at the US Open Juniors. In the singles event, Sam faced no. 5 seeded Damir Dzumhur (BIH) in the second round but was unfortunate to suffer a 6-4 6-2 defeat to the Sarajevo native who is currently ranked no. 3 in the world.
Sam Barry and Ben McLachlan of New Zealand faced Sell / Semenzato in the second round yesterday but were overcome by the Brazilians on a scoreline 7-6(5) 4-6 [10-7].
John Morrissey was also competing at the US Open Juniors this week in the boys singles qualifiers but was unfortunate to suffer a 7-6(4) 7-6(7) defeat to Michael Zhu (USA) in the first round.
For the doubles event, Morrissey teamed up with Ben Wagland of Australia but they were unfortunate to suffer a 6-4 5-7 [10-1] defeat to Sell / Semenzato of Brazil in the first round.
