John Morrissey Results from Youth Olympic Games
John Morrissey was unfortunate to suffer a 6-4 6-4 defeat to no. 6 seeded Yuki Bhambri (IND) in the quarterfinals of the boys singles at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) 2010 in Singapore this morning. Bhambri was the 2009 winner of the boys singles at the Australian Open Junior Championships.
John Morrissey was selected for the ITF/Grand Slam Junior Touring team this year and recently reached the second round of the Green Proprty Mens Irish Open at Fitzwilliam. He defeated Diego Acosta (ECU) on a scoreline 7-5 6-1 in the first round and had a 6-2 7-6(4) win over no.4 seeded Duilio Beretta (PER) to qualify for the quarterfinals.
In the doubles event, Morrissey and Alessandro Colella (ITA) were unfortunate to suffer a 6-2 7-5 first round defeat to Slovakians Horansky / Kovalik earlier this week.
