Amy Bowtell advanced to the second round of the girls singles at the NRW Junior Open in Germany after a 6-0 7-5 win over Katharina Hering (GER). She faced Daria Afanasyeva (RUS) in the second round but was unfortunate to suffer a 6-4 1-6 6-4 defeat.
