Barry and Morrissey fail to advance in Roland Garros Boys Singles
Both Sam Barry and John Morrissey were in action yesterday in the first round of the boys singles in Roland Garros in France.
Sam Barry was the first of the Irish boys to play facing no. 13 seed Frank Mitchell from the USA in the morning. Barry suffered a 6-4 4-6 6-2 defeat to the American who is currently ranked 15 in the world.
John Morrissey was next to play and faced Micke Kontinen (FIN) in the afternoon but was unfortunate to suffer defeat on a scoreline 7-5 1-6 6-4.
John and Sam are teaming up for the doubles event and they will play French duo Lucas and Thomas Szewczyk in the first round.
