Mens Singles Main Draw
There were victories for all three Irish players competing in the mens singles main draw yesterday. Barry King had a 3-6 7-6(6) 6-3 win over no. 7 seed Matteo Marrai (ITA) in the first round and will now face Matthew Illingworth (GBR) in the second round later on today. Colin O’Brien defeated Colin Ebelthite (AUS) on a scoreline 6-4 6-2 and will play Alexander Slabinsky (GBR) in the next round. James McGee had a 6-2 6-1 win over Chris Priddle of Great Britain and will face no. 2 seed Alexander Sadecky (SUI) on court. No 2 this morning.

No. 3 seeds, Barry King and Marcus Willis of Great Britain have advanced to the second round of the mens doubles after a 6-2 3-6 [11-9] win over British pair Pauffley / Ward in the first round. They will now play Obry (FRA) / Puget (FRA) in the next round. Cluskey and O’Brien had a walk over yesterday in the first round.

Womens Singles Qualifiers
Emily Madill has started off the tournament well with a 6-4 7-5 win over Alicia Robinson of Great Britain in the womens singles qualifiers. She faced Sabrina Bamburac (GBR) in the second round yesterday afternoon but was unfortunate to suffer a 6-2 6-1 defeat.

Earlier in the week no. 5 seed, James Cluskey received a bye in the first round of the mens singles qualifiers at the Great Britain F6 Futures event in Edinburgh. Cluskey had a 6-2 6-3 win over Martin Samek (SVK) in the second round but was defeated 7-5 6-1 by James Chaudry (GBR) in the third round.
