 Morgan Lohan played his first match in the boys’ 12 singles in France yesterday, facing Jeremy Durell of France in the first round. Lohan was victorious, defeating Durell 6-4 6-4. He will face Boris Fassbender of France in the second round.
 
In the boys’ 11 singles, Oisin Shaffrey, Sean Collins and Cian Maguire were all competing. Shaffrey went up against Frederic Fibleuil of France in the first round, but he was defeated 2-6 6-4 6-0. He will play in the consolation round against Dinh Knoi Ngyuen of Vietman. Collins and Macguire both received first round byes before playing their first matches. Collins faced Alexander Quagliozzi of France, but was defeated 6-0 6-0. Maguire faced a similar fate, losing 6-2 6-2 to Fabien Salle of France.
 
Shaffrey and Maguire are teamed up in the boys’ 11 doubles, where they advanced to the second round with a walkover Robin Angles and Marceau Bataille of France. They will face Alexis Galarneau and Denis Shapovalov of Canada in the quarterfinals.
 
In the boys’ 12 doubles, Lohan and Collins paired up to face the French team of Pablo Espinos and Hugo Stroppiana. Unfortunately, the Irish boys were defeated 6-2 6-2.
 
On the girls’ side, Jennifer Timoten was defeated in the girls’ 11 singles draw. She went up against Ines Yviquel of France in the first round, but lost 1-6 6-4 6-0. Timoten will play Amandine Bonnin of France in the consolation round. Also playing in the girls’ 11 consolation round are Georgia Drummy and Shauna Casey. Drummy will play Demi Tran of the Netherlands, while Casey goes up against the winner of an Eva Berton (FRA) and Laura Apostolova (BUL) match.
 
Katie Kirby also played yesterday in the girls’ 12 singles. Kirby faced Kimberley Gintrand of France in the first round, but was defeated 6-2 6-2. She is set to play Mirs Antonitsch of Austria in the girls’ 12 consolation round. Laura Reid also plays in the consolation round, facing Elisa Thomas of France.
 
In the girls’ 11 doubles, Georgia Drummy and Jennifer Timoten teamed up, but were knocked out in the quarterfinals after losing one set 5-0 and then retiring. Shauna Casey also competed in the doubles. Paired with Laura Apostolova of Bulgaria, she was defeated 6-2 6-1 by Aurore Orlow-Andersen of Belgium and Charlotte Robillard-Millitte of Canada in the first round.
 
Katie Kirby and Laura Reid paired up in the girls’ 12 doubles. The duo was victorious in their first match, defeating Pauline Maklenkov of France and Parli Parn of Estonia, 6-1 6-4. They will play Ana Akhalkatsi of Georgia and Apolline Rassat of France in the quarterfinals.
