Julie Byrne and Nicola Drummy competed last week in the AEGON Junior International Nottingham tournament in the girls 14 category. Nicola entered the singles draw as the seventh seed, earning her a first round bye. In the second round, she was unfortunate to lose to Jasmine Amber Asguar of Great Britain on a scoreline of 2-6 0-6. In a consolation match, Nicola was victorious over Pippa Carr of Great Britain 0-6 6-4 1-0(10) before a walkover in her second match.
 
Julie Byrne was also in competition in the singles draw. She went up against Hannah Gamage of Great Britain in the first round, but suffered a 1-6 2-6 defeat. In the consolation round, Julie played India Sanders of Great Britain, losing to the Brit 3-6 4-6.
 
Julie and Nicola teamed up in Nottingham as the fourth seed in the girls’ 14 doubles. The pair was defeated 7-5 6-1 by the British duo of Jennifer Brown and Nicole Shakhnazarova in the second round after earned a bye in the first.
