LIMERICK LAWN TENNIS CLUB HOSTS 26TH ANNUAL SOUTH OF IRELAND OPEN VETERAN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP
Limerick Lawn Tennis Club is welcoming all Veteran tennis players (over 35’s) to the sporting capital of the country for the 26th Annual South of Ireland Open Veteran Tennis Championship on the weekend of April 9-11. From a tournament that began 26 years ago in 1985 with 3 competitions (Mens, Ladies & Mixed O/40 Doubles), it has blossomed into one of the best supported, fun and competitive Vets tournaments in the country. The 26th renewal is being generously sponsored once again by the Greenhills Hotel, located close to the Club on the Ennis Road. There will be 12 separate events for Mens and Ladies from O/35’s to O/60’s.
Speaking at the launch of the tournament, Limerick Lawn President Gerry Clancy said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 26 years of continuous, high quality Veterans’ tennis. The South of Ireland is one of the premier events on the circuit and always offers a weekend of great tennis, entertainment and camaraderie. Combined with the Munster v. Northampton European Cup Quarter Final on Saturday evening, it will make for a great weekend of sport for all competitors.”
The Entry Form can be obtained from www.lltc.ie or www.tennisireland.com . Entries are being accepted up to Tuesday April 6th at 3 pm.
