Ciaran Fitzgerald and partner Ben Mullis have advanced to the second round in the boys’ doubles draw in the AEGON Nottingham Junior ITF. Fitzgerald and the British Mullis team up as the fifth seed in the tournament, defeating Tommy Bennett and Tim Prossor, both of Great Britain, in the first round. The duo handed the British pair a 6-0 6-2 loss to knock them out of the draw. Fitzgerald and Mullis will face Luke Bambridge and Connor Glennon of Great Britain in the second round.
 
On the girls’ side, Grainne O’Neill was knocked out of the singles’ draw by Katy Dunne of Great Britain. Dunne defeated O’Neill on a scoreline of 6-2 6-1 to advance to the third round. O’Neill was also in competition in the girls’ doubles, but came up short again and was knocked out in the first round. O’Neill, partnering Francesca Faulkes of Great Britain, was defeated 6-1 6-4 by third seeded Joanna Henderson and Ruth Seaborn, both of Great Britain.
 
Emily Madill also competed in the doubles’ competition after being knocked out in the first round of the singles. Madill teamed up with Kyria Dunford of Great Britain to take on the British pair of Sarah Beth Askew and Sian Bayliss. Madill and Dunford were unfortunate to suffer a 3-6 6-1 [10-7] defeat in the first round.
